these little holes have been in the nose for a while on a lot of cars i think. nothing more exciting than cockpit ventilation really.
possibly f duct, but most likely just to get some air flow and keep the driver cool

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

you mean the little opening right at the front? It's a vent to feed some fresh air into the cabin. Or do you mean the little horn thing on the
side? All those little bits of aero are generally to direct the airflow across parts of the car further back, not generate downforce...

If you mean the black oval in the middle of the nose?
Yeah, just for cooling. Have almost all had them for years. More or less obvious depending of colour!
Cheers,
James

I've not even looked at the pictures yet and I can tell you what it is.
Something for the Ferrari fans to whine about. Simple as that.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

Surely it's for Knight Rider style lights?

McLaren nose from 2006
Its usually to cool the electronics located in in the front of the monocoque. Drivers cooling is not really a priority, they have to deal with it and
get on with it!
