Any Audi experts about?
A friend of mine has an Audi A4 2.5? Diesel v6 thingy - 2005 vintage with an auto box.
When setting off it it is like a normal auto for the first few yards then there is a sort of judder and a thump from the gearbox area then it seems ok
again after that until the next set off from stand still.
What could this be?
My initial thought was the gearbox itself, then maybe an engine mount on its way out but then it feels like maybe some sort of torque converter lock
up mechanism kicking in in a less than smooth way.
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Mark
