Installing vinyl stripes Advice needed
Hello to you all. You have been greatly missed.
I am back in Greece. I have joined the military to do my National Services hence me being away for a while. Fingers crossed I will be back on the
forum shortly.
I am about to install my vinyl stripes on my Clio. My problem is: How do you align the bonnet with the roof stripes.
So ideas needed before i get my hands on it.

soft tape measure to work out the centre and some masking tape or a dry wipe pen to mark the locations?
Do it in the sun as the vinyl will be more compliant when warm.

Soapy water also helps when applying as it allows you to move it around a bit if need be.
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

use masking tape to mark the center of the car over the bonnet and roof, then work out from the center the same distance as the roof stripe is
use a soft plastic card to take out the airbubbles and a little bit of washing up liquid in the water (use plently) and don't drive the car for
about 12hrs at least if its cold
I've done heaps of stipes on cars but now it's just too common since production cars started using them on any old shoping trolley

Use one long strip and go right over the car, then you can align it easily by eye.
When its all stuck down just use a razorblade/knife to trim off and remove the bits that go over the windscreen and other areas were you don't
want it.

Thank you for the quick replies.
I will use the method of finding the centre of the car and then work it out from there. Then soapy water and the plastic card.
Just as i was about ready for it, it started snowing.
Ohh well. Another day

Snowing in Greece?!?
Get a sqwerty bottle and fill with water and alittle washing liquid.
Dont worry too much about applying them in the cold. Just use a hair drying to activate the self adhesiveness after.
Make sure the areas you are going to stick to are SUPER DOOPER clean. any grip will show up.
Spend time on preping and cleaning before applying, dont get too excited and mess it up becasue your excited to see the finished result!!
Get a helper to help measure, reach and stick the vinal.
Good luck!!

I do miss UK a lot. Not the teaching practices so much. I am doing my national services and i am fed up of scratching my B@lls!!
Loads of stupid things to do. At the moment i am a Nato Deployment Corp.
Imagine the sillyness of the situation. Having a BEng(Hons) MSc and PGCE my field on the army is a DRIVER. OFGS couldn't they give me something
more interesting?
