Lesson Learnt, Lesson Shared
Hi Guys & Girls
Posted the other day with Vectra problem of not revving above 2500rpm After trying many things including all the suggestions received from fellow
Locost members it turns out to be the CAT.
I slackened the exhaust manifold off the head and it revved freely ( & loudly ) My thanks go to Marc Chandler, even though it was sucking hard
on intake Marc.
Took it off and just poured the catalyst out. a new one is £200 + VAT but hey my it will get my car back on the road. Now all I need is a phone call
off the rolling road guy saying I can go get my Kit, now that I can tow again.
Also thanks to all of you that replied ..... I also posted my problem on two Vauxhall forums, one dedicated to Vectra C and did not get even one
answer. So it just shows what a helpful bunch we have in our "club".
I thought I would share my findings in case anyone has similar problems in the future.

Its a 1.8 LS Estate Petrol on a 53 plate with 135k on the clock, I put a second engine in 3k ago.
Good old work horse. Tows kit on trailer easily & loads of room.
Taking it on a little trip to Costa Brave in May

Would you like a good downpipe and cat? I have a spare in the garage I was going to scrap.
