engine earth point + fuel pressure reg (tin top)

so is there any reason why i can't use the earth on my zetec to mount my fuel pressure reg, i've never been happy with the convoluted path the pipes have to take to meet it when it was mounted on the bulkhead, and i'm convinced the tight bends were actually constricting fuel flow.

the earth point is even the right size hole...

No. Other than the slight risk that if the ground point got hot due to a bad connection you risk a fuel fire.

i cant tell is that sarcasm? i did scrub up the contact area before mounting.
