Laptop to Power Commander lead... quick question
I have a Power Commander, model PCIIIR, that has a 9Pin serial socket.
Will a 9pin serial to USB lead work on my laptop?

unfortunately the answer is yeas and no - it might work depending on the laptop and lead - some combinations work, some don't and there's
no real way to predict

The usual problem is COM port allocation by the computer, sometimes the USB to rs232 adaptor sits on a different com port every time you switch on,
the commander may need to be manually switched to find it or will only see com ports 1 to 10.
It can be a bit of a faff but once you get the hang of it, ok.
My adaptor that I use on the megajolt looses drivers every time so I need to upload the driver to the computer every time.
