Scrapping a Morris Minor
Hello
I'm scrapping a Morris Minor, does anyone have a rough price for what I should get for weighing it in. Fife region if that makes a bearing on
price. I want shot of it but I don't want ripped off if you get my drift.
BTW I part with nothing, it's seriously not savable, but I've contacted the Minors owners club in case they want it.
Regards
Geoff

Why not advertise it in the Classic Car Magazines. You should get a lot more for the sum of the parts.

I cannot be bothered breaking it, just want it away, hopefully this week as well. I've two too many cars on the drive, and once it's gone
the missus might just... well you know where that was going

A Clio size car without wheels is about £100 ish - with wheels about £80.
Dont break it, put it on ebay - you will get more than £100 for it !

Eh! Is that 'cos of the disposal costs of the tyres then? Well I'm blessed we take them for nothing at the racetrack to make tyre
walls.
Cheers!
You'd be surprised how quickly the sales people at B&Q try and assist you after ignoring you for the past 15 minutes when you try and start a
chainsaw

Maybe I should have been more specific.
This thing was a CatC write off about 7 years ago and has been languishing on my drive ever since gently returning to the oxide form of iron.
It's more rotten than a rotten thing at a conference of rotten things. I doubt there is a usable item on it other than the major castings.
There's an old skip outside my house at the moment that's in better nick than the car. If the scrap value was lower I'd lob bits of
it into the skip tonight.
Regards
Geoff
p.s. cheers for all the reples

Ebay will still get more than a ton i would think for a moggie.
Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Aren't any Minors saloons that are not tax exempt...except maybe a very late van or pickup

According to wikipedia the last Minor produced in this country was in 71 so they'd all be
tax exempt.
My shed was a CatC write off so doesn't have a logbook.

As of Friday 17th June I was offered £150 a tonne by Daltons in Edinburgh, so I sold it to bloke from the Morris Minor owners club for £100, he came
and picked it up today.
The missus is pleased, I'm happy, the blokes happy, the Minor is apparently getting converted into a trailer, rather than getting cubed sent out
to china then comming back upsetting balance of payments.
Thanks once again for all the replies
