Any one live near Castle Combe Circuit ??
Hi all,
Bit of a dilemma at the moment, and trying to figure out what's the best way of working it.
Ive booked a track day at Castle Combe for a friday in August, and ive managed to get permission to go from her in doors by combining it with a visit
to some friends in wales.
Plan is to drive down on the Thursday to wales, do the track day on the friday and then back home that eve.
Problem is that i don't really want to drive almost right past the circuit on the M4 with my car on its trailer on the way to wales, only to
turn back round and cart it back the following morning. Castle Combe have said i can drop the car off on the thursday and leave it over night no
problem, but not really sure how much of a good idea that would be.
Does anyone live fairly locally to the circuit and is able to help with somewhere i could securely store my car/trailer for an evening ?
Cheers
Tris

Ask if the circuit parking is secure. They usually are.

At Castle Combe!!!!!!!
As secure as feild with a gate can be, there aren't any buildings or a perimeter wall. If it was my car (and it previously has been) I
wouldn't leave it there, especially if its on a trailer.
What date is the track day? I will be at my home in Glos for about 2 weeks from 6th August working on my car, you could leave it there if you want but
its about 35 mins from Combe, 2 junctions up the M4 from the M4/M5 interchange.

If you don't get a better offer, I live in Reading and have a secure driveway (and a spare tarp). About an hour and 10 mins from the circuit.
Not the best solution but better than going all the way back to Bedfordshire. I'm sure someone closer will help you out though.
Wasn't taking enough notice and the post above is a much more attractive offer. lol

We live about 16 miles from the circuit. Google Maps reckons around 35 mins. We are a bit in the middle of nowhere, on a farm (not active now). we
have a fairly large drive area in front of the house which is set back off the road by about 50yds and don't get too many cars past the gate in
a day.
I guess if you feel it would work we can discuss it further?
u2u me if you like.

Thanks for all the replies - i got that impression regarding the circuit by just looking around with google maps, as it all looks very open.
John - thanks for your kind offer which i would like to take you up upon. Will drop you a U2U nearer the time if thats ok and we can discuss further
?
Cheers

Tris,
I'm in a remarkably similar situation to John, except the old farm I live on is a lot further than 50yds from the road and I'm 20mins from
the circuit (which I pass every day on the way to work.) Our gate is kept locked and we've lots of room. I'll need to clear it with the
Landlord, who lives on site, but I don't expect a problem.
Happy to help if I can. Send me a U2U.

No problems Tris, looks like Tim might have an even more suitable location mate
Let me know either way.
