Drums are fine on a light car, you will need the long diff for a bike engine but for car engine and 1.6 pinto a 3.9 would make a world of difference.

there are plenty of folk selling conversion kits and I've even got a pair of recon calipers going spare (that I could do with selling)
but is it really worth it ?

well they are here if you want them - I've not got the carriers for them, just the calipers themself, but they've never been used since
they were reconed
and since your only just up the road you wouldn't need to pay any postage
new rear calipers
