Fiat Ducato project motorhome

So I needed a van which I've bought which I'll be doing up as a campervan. Has anyone had any experience in conversions and has anyone got any good PDF books please?

I have a budget of 2k to do the inside. The van is the 2.8 Ducato lwb hightop.

Cheers in advance.

David

Thanks

I shall be watching this with interest, I have been stalking the T4/T5 forums of late with the same intention.

Madteg should be your man for the work he has done on his van so far.

Many years ago I converted my old race transport (from the drag racing days......an old Talbot Express Hi roof) into a fully fitted camper .
I think I spent about a grand on all the parts - but that was the best part of twenty years ago !
Since then , I've been working at a major van converter - for nearly 20 years ............ so I have a little experience in fitting out vans

Its cuz I is blond , innit

Thought you may all like to see what my van is looking like.

This was last August after stripping out the old boarding and insulating starting...

This is the work upto last week...

2k spent so far. On windows n everything...

We made everything out of mdf first then the £75 a sheet board. Is a big learning curve....

I still have the front half to do but the shower unit is almost done and the electrics are done...... Not sure what to do with the doors yet.

Everything made from furniture board and my new table saw, router n jigsaw......

What's your thoughts
.....

Looking tidy Dave.

My mate does this as his business. Check out Dalesman Conversions on Facebook, that might give you some ideas.

I looked at doing a conversion but it worked out cheaper to buy an older model and do a light body resto and engine swap .

I have two big truck batteries under the passenger seat and they last 4days with no hookup

Plenty of Mercs out there with night heaters , I've had to get a propex gas heater but its worth the expense having a warm van all night
