5 place gearbox penalty! agree or disagree?
surely there must be a better solution than a 5 place grid penalty?
id prefer to see 5 points off constructers points penalty rather than penalising individual drivers for mechanical issues?

That's why F1 is now rubbish, it's nothing more than a traveling circus!
I used to go to all Euro GP's. Now? I would rather watch Formula Ford.

I'm not sure, at least a grid penalty gives the driver to 'make amends' so to speak? And the constructors points are made up of the
drivers points, so it would penalise the driver either way.
From memory, a lot of these sorts of rules were put in place to balance out the manufacturers, and allow those who can't afford milk in their
engineer's tea to compete against those who could bring half a dozen new engines to each race if they were allowed to.

You can't discriminate between the team and driver. Did the gearbox fail because the driver monstered it? Do you bump drivers up the grid if
the team has designed a crap car and they should be penalised because the designer can't do his job?

Disagree, and I like the idea of penalising the teams by deducting 5 points from the constructors championship.
