Brake Systems Book review

I recently bought this book:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brake-Systems-Larry-Carley/dp/1557882819/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1352983008&sr=8-1

while looking into designing my brake system. I looked at the reviews and made a quick judgement call.

It landed on my door step and on first opening I realised it's not a book for anyone with any technical knowledge. Even in their race section under "brake formulae" it's nothing more than you could work out with GCSE physics. There seems to be a few nice plots of brake compound versus temperature/friction which are useful but vague. It seems to be, on the whole, about describing OEM systems and their capability, rather than about brakes from a designers point of view.

It's also RRP $16 USD, so don't pay the £38 it's listed for unless you're absolutely desperate!
