Who is this super hero? Sarge? ...No.
Rosemary, the telephone operator? ...No.
Penry, the mild-mannered janitor? ...Could be!

Yeah, I seem to remember Mr Cock and Richard Hammond both squeezing into it, with an intimacy I don't even share with my wife!

Yep, saw it on TG a long time ago. Looks like it could be fun, the outriggers raise above a certain speed IIRC so it's jsut like a bike.
It looks like the Midget is winning at the moment......

The Carver is different. It has three wheels if I remember correctly and only the front part leans into the corners.

Or why not have bikes and cars as well.

I do find it strange that people are able to judge a vehicle without any experience of it.
I had no idea what they were like until I drove one. They're much more difficult to drive than a bike or a car
which I find makes driving one much more interesting. I don't want it to be a bike or a car - If I want to drive a
bike - I drive one, if I want to go by car - I go by car.

I had a ride in one of those around Zolder. I was sick.... very sick! The way they lean into the corner with your face inches from the tarmac is quite
wierd. Great fun up to a point!

That's interesting, because on the back of a bike I'm absolutely petrified if someone is going really fast so I've not done it for a
long long time. When I was really young I used to go on the back of some real nutters - coming up to a corner I'm thinking for God's sake
put the brakes on or we're going to die - then they pop a wheelie - somehow we almost always made it made me petrified of going on the back of
bikes. When the motorcycle journalist Paul Blezard treated me to a few high speed laps of the Bruno circuit - with my face inches from the tarmac as
you mention - I was only slightly nervous which was a real surprise for me.
Who took you round the Zolder track?

It doesn't help that as the passenger you are higher than the driver.
I forget the guys name, I think he was Swiss.
A group of us go to Zolder each year for the VAB-Autohappening and give passenger rides out on track for 2 days.
I remember the year I was a passenger was the same year we made him some rear brake pads from bits of old pallet after they wore out. The intention
was just to get him home but after a couple of stops the charcoal seemed to work quite well as long as his wife squirted a bit of water on them each
time he came in the pits! He got through an afternoon of trackwork on 3 sets of pallet wood pads!
