Please can anyone lend me a crows foot?
34mm preferably 1/2" drive but I could cope with 3/8 - I only need to do one job and the only one I can find to buy on its own is £42.41 plus
VAT and delivery or similar for a cheapo ebay set with the size in it
obviously I will pay postage out and back and buy the lender a beer
Cheers
Mark

If it is a pipe fitting have you tried a basin wrench.

It's for a steering rack track rod - I thought of a basin wrench but it won't be strong enough

rack
Hi
Are we talking about an MK with a Sierra rack ?
Take the rack out hold it in a vice & use a pair of stilsons if
you don't have the spanner
When you replace it ensure the threads are perfectly clean
use locktite & do up really tight.
If you are thinking of doing it in situ I doubt if a crows foot
Would be strong enough.
Maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick ?
Good luck

No it's a Saab 9-5 - taking the rack out would be a nightmare and there is no room for stillsons etc.
I have done plenty of steering racks in my time and this is easily the trickiest one I have come across
