Bloody cars!

I'm currently selling my dad's x type diesel for him. Car has been faultless even when it's been buried under snow for a week in Aberdeen. Today a guy came to view today, making all the right noises, takes the car out for a spin and the bloody oil warning light came on and wouldn't go out. Oil level bang on, no leaks etc, gets back on my drive, buyer scared off, 10 seconds later light goes off

quick Google shows pressure switch sticking Is a common fault cost 12 quid for new genuine sensor. The car hasnt moved for a fortnight so guess it had gone a bit sticky. I'm partly to blame as I should have run it round the block but I prefer to view a car when it's cold so just left it

I did drop him a text saying the light has gone off and would gladly replace the sensor if he was interested but alas no reply, he probably thinks I've taken the bulb out!

My rx8 did the same to me, had been perfect all throughout my ownership, when I put it up for sale it started suffering from the dreaded hot start problems! Luckily it was the coils and not the compression
