Mazda 2007 2.0 cd 6 dpf filter issue solved.
Thought if share a success story with you. I have a mazda 6 with just over 100 k on the clock, at about 90 the dpf started playing up. They are the
Bain of my life. Everytime you regen it would last a few weeks n then back on again. Eventually it would go into limp mode I would force a regen n it
would last 400-500 miles then light on and flashing n into limp mode.
Back pressure was high n mazda wanted £2000 another garage said £500 fitted or you can get it removed for £350. I decided on removal but I thought i
would try jet wash it out n drill it....... What's the worst that could happen.
So dpf filter removed, sensors removed I cleaned it with the jet washer n the drilled 1 12m hole through the filter bit inside using a 1m long drill
bit and jet washed again for 30 mins.
Well put it back together n left running for 20 mins with it in limp mode n upset with me for filling it with water it wouldn't clear from limp
mode. 10 mins of running on drive n then fitting the back box seemed to do the trick.
Battery off for 5 mins n went for a run n all was ok.
2000. Miles later
Mot time gulp...... Emissions test 0.41 so a pass. Best he had seen for age n miles etc.....
So now I've done another 8000 miles n all is still ok.
I haven't had the pressure checked but no dpf light or running issues at all.
One thing to remember is you are supposed to do an oil change after each regen cos unused fuel gets in the oil....
I had to do my oil change 3 times in 6 weeks at £58 a time. Dexilia dpf oil.....
It was worth a go before I spent £350 on dpf removal....
I now do oil changes every 6000 miles
Thanks
