Saw a Caterham 21 today
Quite nice looking thing really.
I didn't know what it was until a bit of googling. If I'd known it was so rare I'd have got out and chatted to the owner and had a
closer look!
As it was I just drove off!

There were a couple at Donington show last year. Never saw one before. Very pretty things.

I have a vague recollection of a TV documentary about it and how Caterham did all this development work on it, faffing around quite a bit, and by the
time it came out, Lotus had done the Elise and the 21 was no more. Shame really, nice looking car.

Actually, me too now. Commentated by John Peel IIRC?

Lovely looking car, amazed by how well they hold their price though, must be good cars.

I remember seeing the alumunimum bodied prototype at Donnington. Polished mirror finish. It remained on the price list but they never sold one. I
seem to recall that it used the seven chassis so for all the extra room inside the shell, the cockpit was still cramped.
The introduction was delayed because they struggled with door shuts and boot linings and all the things new to them. Had it been launched on time,
i.e. a year or two before the elise, it may have been a big hit.

They are quite nice, but a bit of a sod to work on.
