Anyone done a remap?

Just fitted a new map to my pug, all went well until I started the engine. It jumped up to 2500rpm and chucked a load od smoke out the back. I've replaced it with the original file but does anyone know if an initial "running like a sack of shhhte" period is normal? I've emailed the guy I got it from just waiting for him to respond

D'oh!

Turns out one of the settings was slightly off, good job the battery on my laptop's awful otherwise I'd have gone for a run out!

It is amazing what torque and power can be extracted by turbo diesels these days.

Yeah, 125bhp now (alledgedly, it's probably provided I was getting 90 to begin with!)

Another plus is I can hear the turbo blowing louder too

On the downside I now know my clutch DOES need replacing, and I got a second "holy crap!" moment when my mpg readout dropped to 9 when I was booting it!
