I really like the idea of that as always wanted an RS200 and currently have the correct MR2 for it, but from looking at the pictures some bits put me
off, have a look at the one with the drivers door open and see you can spot what I did.
Would be interesting to see it in person though, hopefully it will be at the Newark show.
There is another company doing an RS200 replica based on a Subaru Impreza.

The RS200 is a cracking piece of design in my eyes - by far the best looking Group B car - would be THE car on my shopping list if the lottery numbers
came up - am really tempted to get one of the MR2 based conversions as a daily driver!

Yeah its just the way it looks and how it would function, the new door is a lot bigger than the old one so when open there is a smaller opening than
what the door is so you can see a large portion of the original body and the hardtop thats fitted before the kit, also the original door/window is
frame less and it looks like the window seal is still part of the hardtop and no seal on the door itself. It would be interesting to see it in person
to see exactly how it works.

Looks alright and the car its based on isn't bad. I like the idea of a scoop based example though.

Interesting project.
is it basically a bodykit?
as there are so few originals about very few people will know that the interior is wrong.
What Mr2 is the car based on? Pics?
What years were the originals made - would be good to get a donor of the same year. i guess the next obvious question would be o identify if the donor
had any major flaws and opportunities for tuning.

it's a Mk 3 isn't it? they made the RS200's in the early 80's so you won't get a matching year.
If you want to see a real one, and your passing through Tenterden, Mark Lilly's diesels used to have one in the show room which is probably
still there.

Ford fair every year has a real one for sale. Completely stock with few miles.
You dont want that though as its a museum piece and should not be used.
There is a very tuned one around that did have the 0-60 record forca while. Thats what you want.
Or do what I would and build a duran. It looks like an RS200 but is completly modern and custom, no donor. They use then is rally cross and are
awsome.
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

I think Ford built them between '84 and '86, but in reality they may not have actually made the 200 required for homologation, some
may have been constructed and then taken apart as soon as the FIA signed the car off as OK to compete, and most of the ones sold to the general public
were registered when they were actually handed over, some as late as 1990 or 1991 I think i read somewhere... Still some short of the '99 of the
first Mk3 MR2 though...

I just don't see the point to be honest. Replica cars rarely look right and if you owned it you would always know it was a fake. What's
the purpose? Not the real thing, no history, not the same performance. Its like the fake lambos and Ferraris, the first question anyone will ask is
"is it a replica?" And you will have to say yes with your head bowed. If you buy cars for what others think they are going to laugh. If
you buy cara for how they feel its always going to feel a fraud.
Maybe just me.
