Well, it's been a good day!
The MOT on my Locost ran out yesterday, but I've been waiting for a dry day to get it to the garage for testing. Went out with the missus today
in the tin-top, mentioned the MOT on the way home and she suggested calling in to book an appointment. The bloke asked when I wanted it done, and I
said "this afternoon would be nice, but I don't suppose you can fit me in...". "How about 4:15 this afternoon?" was the
reply.
And it passed...
I can strongly recommend Capel Station Garage (Capel St Mary, Suffolk) to anyone in South Suffolk or North Essex - they are more than happy to do kit
cars, ordinary cars and motorbikes and they've always given my cars an honest test - firm but fair. They don't fail cars to get business,
but they won't let bad things pass (quite right too). I've even seen them do trikes (not easy to do brake tests!).
As an aside, I worked out that the car has done 850 miles since the last MOT, of which about 600 miles has been done this year - the weather was
REALLY bad last year, wasn't it!

I agree, I WANT my car to fail an MOT if it isn't safe

Absolutely - and, as a result of wanting the car to pass, it's had a really close inspection by me before the test... maybe I wouldn't
have looked so intently if I hadn't had that incentive? Who knows... I am a responsible car owner, but there's nothing like the pressure
of an independent test to encourage diligence!
