Interesting Saab Engine on eBay
I tend to keep an eye on eBay for spare saab engines if one comes up cheap i tend to have a cheeky bid and if i win it goes in the spares shed
so i spotted this one
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Saab-900-93-B204-Engine-Redtop-Turbo-185bhp-/321254286700?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4acc3f656c
/>
seller is advertising it as a good condition low mileage engine. being someone that always reads peoples feedback i spotted that previously he had
tried to sell the car, im guessing the sale fell through as he is now breaking it.
have a look at the advert for selling the car it clearley states its done 185k!

Not absolutely definite that it is the same car though - the whole car was green but the engine pic seems to be in a blue car
I could be wrong though.

sent him a message got a reply and yes it is the 185k engine. i wonder what he considers a high mileage engine
may still buy it if i can get it for a good price, i have enough spares to rebuild it.

That's the problem with buying an engine on its own. You never know its history.

What bits would you need to collect to run a Saab engine like this in a Locost ?

You really need the whole donor car then you can get all the wiring and ECU's etc. The ECU's are remappable on a DIY basis if you want to
tune the motors.
Obviously you would need a suitable gearbox......

Saab engine, ecu & apc, loom, ignition pack, turbo, boost valve, intercooler oil cooler, flywheel and clutch.
Omega v6 r28 gearbox
Custom spacer for omega clutch slave cylinder
Custom prop
High pressure fuel pump.
It may be a struggle to fit in a locost as it's quite a tall engine but it will fit in a Haynes like mine without too much bother.
