X Type 2.0Td Oil light
Anyone know if these have an oil level lift as well as a low pressure switch.
And also if it is latched electrically? i.e. won't reset until ignition off
The light keeps coming on intermittently and there is "enough" oil on the dipstick. Also its not blown up with 20 miles of motorway
driving.
So I suspect that its a faulty OP switch, but open to other possibilities?

Never seen an oil level indicator on a Mondeo. Whats it look like? Oil can o a red background is always oil presure.
Most likely cause is a faulty presure switch... but if you keep driving when it comes on, it can be an expensive guess to make should you be wrong.

I've got the same (i think) engine in my smax.
Had the light come on intermittently recently. Took it to the garage (cause I'm lazy) and they diagnosed lose wiring to the switch. Recrimp and
its been fine for the last couple of months and x thousand miles.

I had this on my old man's x type it's the oil pressure switch. It's a common fault Only a few quid from Eurocarparts and 5 mins to
fit. You only lose a dribble of oil too.
