Told the wife :D
Was keeping the TF at work until I got the porch (and more importantly, garage) finished. Unfortunately landlord decided he wanted all cars
(there's a lot of mechanics workshops) removed so he could resurface the drive so I needed to bring car home.
He was gonna charge battery Thursday night so I would ride to work and bring car home Friday but he didn't so come Sunday, wife took boys
shopping and so, in the middle of doing work on garage, I hopped on bicycle, rode to work, got bike in car and drove home. Left car at end of road
(cul-de-sac) till last night when I picked her up from Waitrose (shopping after getting off train)
She was quite amused and not in the slightest bit stroppy, just asked if this was my next project
Result!

Just telll her to remember that she can see where the money is going, and that you are not out boozing and chasing other women... Just merely that you
are building a car. Also that she will be able to ride out in it.
Worked for me.
1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Its once you've built it you'll be out chasing the women in it. They have an answer for everything

Me and my mate have a good agreement. Whenever he buys a new JCB (he has many) he tells his wife that it's mine and I'm keeping it at his
place to hide it from my mrs. When another vehicle turns up at my house, I tell my mrs the same....

Well, there was nearly £30 grand on the new bedroom and bathroom above the garage (with a bit of reroofing too), and she's getting a new porch
and wants a downstairs bog (at the back of my garage !!!).
If she wants new shoes she can feckin buy them herself

To be fair, my wife was all for me building a 7 replica, so started a +442 V8 - then she decided that that wasn't fair. Apparently, once
I'd built it I'd be out in it enjoying myself and she'd be sitting at home a kit car widow. In a rash moment of exuberance I said
" No problem, I'll build you one!" What I neglected to take into account was that my mate Dan (Scutter on this site) was in
attendance and immediately offered me his old rolling chassis for the princely sum of £200. At this point I'd pretty much painted myself into a
corner and ended up doing the deal. To be fair to Dan, it was a very good deal, but now, I have to finish the wife's car so she can go out and
play while I get back to building my V8!
All being said, at least I can buy bits freely as at the moment they are for the wife's car! And once that's on the road she can't
complain about me buying bits for mine! Happy days!
