Looks like a Formula Ford size car with a boxer engine in the back. Maybe a Formula Vee car?

I was talking to a guy at barbon who imports single seater formula type race cars from Japanese race series. Based on Subaru running gear. Try looking
in Japanese race series. Or I could find out the guys name when back from holiday

Dont worry to much, just a passing interest!
I'd love a single seater for sprinting some day.

He says its chassis number 009 so I assume there were at least 8 other "Maxims" (although you can choose your own chassis number for the
CCLB) and that the engine is an Alfa unit.
Very odd though, why not just advertise it properly?

If engine is a flat 4, then it could be over 2 litres and even if it is under 2 litres it will be totally uncompetitive in the UK in the 'racing
car' classes. Classes are defined, you cant just enter where you think it will be o.k.Wouldnt touch it with a barge pole.....
You are right about one thing Dan, I would be pushing.....

I reckon Daniel's on the money, here: it's appears to be the Japanese equivalent of Formula Ford.
Here's another car from the same formula, with the same engine, judging by the induction trumpets:

And another Maxim, for anyone who can read Japanese.
Or another

Good work! Certainly looks like the one.
so the question is could you get a modern subaru boxer in there? that would make an interesting sprint car.....

It would be interesting but absolutely useless in sprinting or hillclimbing.....Now a bike engine might be a different kettle of fish....
