NEW E Type
Just been reading about the 6 new all alloy E Types tthat Jaguar will be building. Just wondered if they will be able to get them through without a
new type approval or IVA because they would never pass current regulations in a million years I recon. OR is there a loophole somewhere?

Will it already have type approval from first time around.

They're going to be sold as historic motorsport use only, so you're unlikely to ever see one on the road unfortunately.

The loophole is to make them as follow on cars....theyre fia eligible then. Not sure about road legality

No such thing as type approval back then.

We do work for a jag restorer, they recently produced a replica of a lightweight racer from scratch. As far as I'm aware it wasn't too
much hassle to get it on the road.

They do some interesting stuff, just up the road from me, we have put a mk2 on EFI for them as well as 3 E types on megajolt. Recently tuned a 3.8 on
triple webers.

What would stop the new E Type from being road registered? If they wanted to do that
If you can get a bed or orange or whatever road legal, why not this car?

Ha Ha, E Type Dutton. I like it!!! I suppose that would be OK as you used to be able to get an E Type Cortina if memory serves me well.
