Guy Martin v. David Coulthard on Channel 4!
If you haven't spotted it - there's a programme on Channel 4 now, with Guy Martin on his bike v. David Coulthard in a F1 car. Not bad so
far.
Repeated on Channel4+1 at 10:00

Me and my mates have been talking about it today
Im pretty much the only car devote, the others are bikers.

Not a bad show - suave DC v. greasemonkey GM!
I'd like to see DC race a MotoGP bike though... perhaps with Rossi...

Time for a rematch - DC to do 4 laps of the Isle of Man TT course in the F1 car...
I agree about GM though - what you see is what you get, warts and all. Great lad.

Sorry - I meant DC in his F1 car racing against a MotoGP bike, not DC on the bike!

I thought it was a very entertaining program and both DC and Guy were a great laugh. The outcome wasn't really a surprise to anyone who
understands the laws of physics but it was good fun all the same. Perhaps the biggest surprise was the result of the grip strength test! I thought
that would have gone the other way.

Missed it last night
I do like GM myself, I like his open character and honesty. Read his autobiography recently, good read and very frank about how he works most of the
time on trucks and races for fun.
Is the program likely to be on 4OD or elsewhere?

I watched as well and enjoyed it you forget how loud the V8 cars were, but is just me I think Guy is a very clever person but as a presenter he is
crap the way he comes across like a "16 year old" who has just found porn on the Internet for the first time.
3.9Ltr SSC Stylus should be fun

Great program,and yeah it's on 4OD.
Nice to see DC relaxed, comes across a bit up tight on F1 imo.
Guy is a great presenter, down to earth and really appreciates what he's doing and how lucky he is to be doing it.
Nice change to see someone being a normal person in a presenter

Excellent, will look it up on 4OD tonight.
I found with GM's auto-biography his openness about riding a bike at 200mph+ was entertaining - it would terrify me, but he seemed to view it as
run of the mill activity with time to think.

I think Guy comes across really well. His lack of the normal gloss is a refreshing change.

Couldn't disagree more. I think his style is perfect - his enthusiasm, knowledge and down to earth attitude should be applauded on every level.
Ive not seen a program with him in where haven't been left feeling satisfied with the content and the delivery. Would rather watch him over
anything with coulthard (as lead or co lead presenter).

He reminds me a lot of Fred Dibnah - scruffy, grubby, probably a bit of a PITA if you had to deal with him regularly - but still highly entertaining
and honest as the day is long.

Guy Martin is a top bloke in my book and he only presents the things he wants to do so he's not chasing the money which makes it entertaining
because of he's enthusiasm .

even more Guy Martin!
Guy Martin to attempt Wall of Death world record - LIVE!
quote:
Guy Martin will attempt a record-breaking assault on the largest Wall of Death ever built on March 28, according to a new trailer film released by
Channel4.
The short teaser, below, shows Guy team up with world-famous Wall of Death master, Ken Fox, who has trained the Lincolnshire racer to ride
horizontally in the epic 120ft diameter wood-lined drum. As stunts go, this one is big – and the whole assault on the wall will be aired live on
Channel4 on Easter Bank Holiday Monday, March 28, at 7:15pm.
The Wall of Death is an epic stunt that involves defying gravity: riding a motorcycle around a vertical wall at high speed. Guy will attempt to go
faster and further than ever before, setting a new world record by scaling incredible new heights on an enormous wall that has been specially
constructed from shipping containers. The programme also follows Guy's training, which began over a year ago with his first rather clumsy
attempts to ride a wall under the guidance of Britain's finest Wall of Death rider, Ken Fox.
Guy also learns about the science that makes him and his bike stick to a vertical wall, from Cambridge University professor Dr Hugh Hunt. And, in a
punishing flight in a stunt plane with ex-fighter pilot Mark Greenfield, Guy experiences the massive G forces he'll need to contend with.
Guy's take on the show? 'It's the greatest idea anyone has ever had.'

I have posted very similar about GM before, and likened him to Fred Dibnah,
he may not be every ones taste, but he passionate about what he is delivering, he always seems so pleased to meet someonelse
and gives them the praise of what they are about
I did like the bit were he had his head in the red bull truck engine bay, not one other presenter would even think about that !
He is enthusiastic, and always has a beeming smile
perhaps he should front TG, and not a ginger minger, who no one likes, and a yank who no one knows who the f**k is he
Thats was probably spelt wrong, or had some grammer, that the "grammer police have to have a moan at

He would be good on TG, but i dont think he would suit the anchor role in that format.
Whilst i aggree Ginge is no JC substitute, i think he has a fair fanbase and is defo a car fan and a good anchor for his other programs.
I dont think theres many people who dont know Matt le blanc and even those who don't know his comedy acting, if they watched TG before, know of
him well enough.

I think Evans will be good on TG. I really dislike Clarkson, he was OK as a comedy actor in previous top gear shows, but reading his column in the
Scum is painful. There are few things I dislike more than wilful ignorance. Likewise, Matt could well work. Funny actor (remember it's all
written by comedy scriptwriters), and petrolhead.
