Master Cylinder Stroke
Was looking to use a pedal box and Brake MC that I had lying about, but can't get the last 10mm of MC travel.
The push-rod pivot is fixed in the pedal.
Is there anything I can reasonably do to get the last bit of travel, or will I just have to bite the bullet and buy a MC with a stroke that suits?
Pedal pivot...
With MC attached and relaxed...
... and fully depressed...

I would say you have ample travel there anyway... Are you absolutely sure the piston goes in further than that?

Yup - it finishes flush with the face. 35mm travel in total and my pedal can only push it 25mm.

I'd be tempted to hook it up and see if that's enough stroke...
Otherwise it'll be the hex fouling the inside of the tube, can you grind it down a bit, just the points of the hex? Looks like there is plenty
of diameter there anyway.

Had a look and the hex doesn't stop the tip from making contact with the end of the tube at the end of the pedal swing.
I was thinking that I may give it a whirl to see if it's enough travel to lock the brakes consistently, but I'd read a couple of
'how to' pieces that suggest that a pedal MUST be capable of pushing the MC to the end of it's stroke. That said, I've
learned the hard way not to take everything on the web as literal.
Anyone else have any thoughts about having a pedal set-up that doesn't fulfil the full length pf the MC stroke?

Can you have a longer pushrod with the pedal a bit further back/higher when at rest? That would give some extra travel, but could also mess up your
footing.

I would mark the piston at full stroke, connected to the pedal.
Connect and bleed the brakes, then check the piston stroke again and see what the difference is?
Looking at the photos again, is the pedal hitting the end of the slot below the MC?

Cheers - long way away from connecting the brake system, but will bear it in mind when I get there.
The pedal contacts at the top of the box before the slot below.
