Position of Brake Proportioning Valve / Hydraulic Handbrake
Is there a preferred place to put a brake proportioning valve in the rear brake line when also using a hydraulic handbrake?
Before the hydraulic HB? After it? Doesn't matter?
Cheers

I'd say valve then h/brake so the valve doesn't reduce the pressure from the h/brake.
Hydraulic hand brake won't pass IVA though (or MOT) and I'm not sure how proportioning valves are treated.

Cheers Adi. No MOT / IVA worries.

Hi,
Check this document, pages 27 to 33. I did these 3D drawings myself for this French company which is specialized in hydraulic systems for racing
cars.
There's a lot of different installation 3D drawings according to the configuration of your braking system, and you'll find your answer
there.

Hope that will help

Late to the party, but, I would put the H/B last to have the least amount of connectors therefore less chance of leak/failure as H/B serves (on some
cars) double duty as Emergency brake.
Beware of what you wish.. for it may come true....
