Events on the weekend of 15th / 16th June?
HI All
I have occasion to travel from South Africa to the UK in mid-June, and am looking for recommendations of car or motorsport related events on the
weekend of 15th / 16th June that I could attend. I know still quite a long time to go, but this trip has to be planned well in advance.
I would be travelling from London so near to that would be convenient, but I am happy to travel some distance and make a weekend of it by staying
locally for one or two nights.
I see that Shelsy Walsh hillclimb has an Open Test day on the 16th June and a Club Championship round on the 17th June, so that would seem to be
ideal, but are there any other events I might consider?
Any accommodation recommendations or local knowledge around Shelsy Walsh that is good to know? Can it easily be done by train / taxi, or would it be
better to hire a car and drive there?
If used a car I could go via Castle Coombe and pick up some bits from Merlin Motorsport?
Cheers

Shelsey Walsh is out in the countryside - I would expect you would want to have a car at your disposal rather than trying to get there using trains
and taxis.
You would also not be far from Malvern - which is where Morgan cars are built. It looks like you can book a factory tour via their website - including
on dates either side of the weekend you mention https://www.morgan-motor.co.uk/factorytours/
Depending on your interests you could visit Stratford upon Avon (Shakespeares birth place) as part of a multi-day trip up from London as it is in
roughly the same area (if you have a car!).

Evening Fred,
Shelsley (note extra 'l' Walsh is situated in the picturesque Teme Valley countryside and, consequently, not well served by public
transport. A car is really 'a must' for getting around. Having said that, it's only half an hour's drive (12 miles) from
Worcester and the surrounding area abounds with B & Bs etc. Worcester itself boasts two railway stations and numerous car rental outlets.
If you would like more specific info re. accommodation or amenities I would be happy to do a bit of digging for you.
Michael (Worcester resident).
