Dust sheets or car covers?
Hi,
Just now I'm using soft cotton dust sheets to cover the old car because -
1) Their cheap
2) Easy to wash and dry
3) Very breathable
4) Very inert and have no pigment or die to affect the paintwork
Downsides -
1) Don't actually fit the car properly
2) Don't seem to block the sunlight
3) Limited protection against knocks
I there any good reason to stop using them and get normal indoor cover instead?? ta.
Fame is when your old car is plastered all over the internet

Some Q's;
1) Do proper car covers actually give any more protection against knocks? Unless you're talking about those inflatable bubble ones, in which case
you can't get near enough to the car to knock it?
2) Does an 'indoor' cover have to block the sunlight?
3) Would you be able to buy a cover that could fit your car properly?
Personally I'd stay with the dust sheets, maybe double up on them if you want a bit more protection? If it was outside then maybe something a bit
more substantial would be good. Breathable is the most important criteria for me, my brother in laws Astra GSi has rotted away to nearly nothing
because it's under a 'waterproof' cover. Dirt and dust can be washed off, moisture will kill a car.

I have my locost under a heavy duty 3x4m tarp on the drive, with 4 60cm bungees to hold it on. It seems excellent, and still has a good breeze round
the bottom to keep it dry.
Yards totally irrelevant if yours is indoors though!
I'm actually sat in mine now, about to walk in to a quote for work!

Hi
When i had the mk i used a old double quilt on the car to protect it ,then a water proof tarp in winter because the roof leaked

Something to be said for the dust sheets as they can be thrown on any which way, I have a fitted indoor cover on the viento and although it does a
great job and looks the part it can be frustrating to put on as no matter how careful i am at taking it off i always spend a whole heap of time
hunting for the "front" marking in order to get it around the correct way for the right fit.
