Does This checklist seem a little OTT?

My first trackday coming up and even though I have an estate, I don't really fancy filling it up with cr*p.

Any suggestions welcome.

Both times I have had issues on track they were terminal. Exhaust departing car at 80mph - end of day and gearstick coming off in my hand, that got re-welded onsite (Brunters) but not many places will have facilities like that.

Might seem like an obvious one, but do tracks have anywhere to buy fuel?

As I'm planning to drive to my first day I won't be able to take much.

i usually do a quick spanner sesh the day before to make sure nothing has worked loose apart from that just enjoy the day...

re fuel it depends wher you are going cadwell donny oulton rockingham have for a fact there only open for a set period though usually a couple of hours spread through the day. dont think any of the airfield ones have fuel on site but there is usually fuel near by.

Stu, I'll be taking that lot (Martins list) with me to Lydden on the 21st, your more than welcome to borrow anything you need.

I've added to Martins list,

Both parts of your licence
Foot pump/pressure gauge
and my camping chair

Does anyone know the rules on taking a camping stove to make brews on?

I'll scrounge some Jerry cans from work, and take maybe 40L extra of fuel.

That person must be used to flying aircraft! Looks more like a pre-flight check for a Shuttle take-off.
There's one I saved from here some time ago which is shorter which I'll email.

Dan - I will be taking 65 litres of fuel. I normally get through that amount on an open pit - should be enough for sessions

Fuel wise, i was going to fill up the car and take a 20l jerry can. you think i'll need more?!

i guess i could always go out in the tin top and fill up the jerry can again if needed.

stu, if its the lydden day your talking about then dont worry to much as there will be a few of us (7 so far!) with tools and im sure we will all help each other if needed

I did a couple of days at Lydden last year in the Fury (fireblade powered) and was using the majority of a tank per half day (4 sessions).

There is a garage about 2 miles away that sells optimax equivalent (can't remember what company operates it).

There will be plenty of people with bits and bobs so bring a chair to sit on outside, its lonely in a car!

Nearest garage to Lydden is about 3 or 4 miles.

Carry on down the A2 towards dover, take the 3rd exit off the first roundabout (with the macdonalds on it) and then the first exit at the next two - you are in tescos.

It is probably 20-30minutes with fuelling.

How about a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher too? And in case of an extreme emergency, a clean pair of pants might come in handy...
