What lights are these??
wydraz - 16/12/08 at 09:45 PM

Can you please post a link to an online UK store where I can buy some of these smaller black lights as in the video?

I want my car to look like this one but it will mean buying an orange nose or painting my black one orange and getting some black cycle wings....£££

Cheers,

Dan

They're dominator headlights, available from svc at about £75ish

Be careful if you've not done SVA yet though, as they probably won't pass (though IIRC some people have managed to get them through with some fettling)

Thanks, the car is on the road all SVA'd etc....tempted to buy them they look great

Don't pay £75 for them, I sell them on Ebay for a lot less than that!!!
I can do a pair for £57.50 posted (UK) black or chrome

I replaced my Cibie shells with those.

Be prepared for a slower trip anywhere at night. I have to keep jumping out of the car with a torch to see if they're on. They look great, but don't come close to real headlights for lighting performance.

Rick Q, I would suggest you have them wired incorrectly, they take the standard H4 bulb & throw as much light as any other standalone lamp other than projector lamps (which I also sell). It is possible to wire them such that both beams come on together, but in series, thus giving just 6v across each filament.
I did a group buy on here a while back & there must be around 20 forum users bought them, not one single complaint (takes cover from any incoming).
The only other suggestion I would make is that ther is a minor mod you can do (discussed on here b4 search dominator headlight) which changes them from a flat beam to a standard UK beam pattern which throws more light up & left.

Russbot, could you post a picture of the projector lamps?

As requested

The top 2 pics are separate units for dip & main, so you need 4 for a set, Cloudy & Nitram off this forum both have them. The bottom ones which I will be designing some casings for shortly are a combined dip & main in one unit, substantially smaller & cheaper than the Hella unit, I believe all are unique to me being the sole importer.
All throw a standard uk beam pattern & are, to the very best of my knowledge SVA OK.

How much for a set of 4 (2 main 2 dip)? And roughly what dimensions are they?

"Russ, what is your ebay shop called please? "

You'll find me on Ebay as Furorecars & you're obviously welcome to buy from there, but I will always do a better deal if you deal direct with me.
Cheers

"those lights will not pass sva"
Might I suggest that if you're going to make a non constructive comment you at least back it up with some facts - rather than simply misleading people, they certainly will & certainly have, whether EVERY tester will pass them is of course another matter.
The quote below is from Dan_Wright on this forum, I've included a link to the previous discussion on Dominator headlights below

"i have some interesting news on these lights.

i have a pair and took my car for SVA yesterday - i did the 15 degree rotation of the lens to get the kick up.

the examiner kind of tilted his head and said the lenses were at a funny angle.
i told him thats because they were originally bike lights and throw a flat beam and i rotated them to give it the kickup to the left.

his response: you are aloud a flat beam! so they would of passed without the mod.

they did however pass with the rotated lenses so can confirm that they will go through SVA"

I have them on Ebay Ebay linky
at £199.95 for 4, I can do 10% on that price if you deal direct with me, P & P is £12.
Dimensions? They are just 86mm wide & 76mm high, approx50mm across the lens

Kriss - 22/12/08 at 01:50 PM

I have them on my Indy but in "CF" finish. No problems with the light throw at night at all, and full beam it if its a real problem anyway! never been flashed up when focking full beam anyway.

Not sure if mine passed SVA with them on as my car was built for me and tested without me there
