It started!!!!!
After about 9 months of being broken, the Indy finally sparked back into life tonight!!
I'm soooooooo happy!
Just got to get the seats in, seat belts and fix the offside rear brake light and it's off for an MOT tomorrow morning!
MASSSSIVVVVEEE thanks to Jambojeef who correctly identified lack of compression. I've swapped 12 of the valve shims around and it started.
Haven't done a compression test yet, as it's a bit late to run it up to temperature. That'll have to wait until the morning.
Mike
Well done Mike,
It will be good to see your indy back on the road.
Andy
Congratulations Mike.
Mine is now sorted too, thanks to Andy.
Taxing it 1st of may, then let the fun commence!

Woo hoo! Good stuff dude - feel free to buzz over tomorrow post MOT if you want to stretch its legs....you can check out the climbing frame with one wheel which used to be my car!
Well done Mike, will be nice to see you out again and get covered in oil again
Is the brolly going back in now Mike?
Phil
I'm assuming as you've swapped shims around you had tight tappets, this seems to be a problem with the ZX10/ZZR1100 but easily sorted.
Purely out of interest Russ, do you know why this is a problem on these engines? A bit of valve recession for some reason?
