Hi all,

I have a suspicion the rear brakes on my Tiger arent working as hard as they should so am arranging to get the car brake tested at a local garage.

As with any test - the results wont mean much without some idea of what they ought to be and I dont even know how these tests are measured....

anyone have any advice on what to expect?

I would expect you will get a set of readings from the rollers in the floor. You can compare between axles and across the axle but the numbers probably won't mean much compared to another garage. So you get a print out showing braking efficiencies for the MOt. If you look at the live reading from the rollers you should be able to get an idea how much you rear brakes are working in comparison to the front. The guys there can tell how your brakes are working against typical cars tested.

The car passed the brake test on its last MOT but I've no idea what it showed. I just know that after a load of driving the front discs cleaned up nicely but the rears havent - which seems odd...

Sure you haven't go the handbrake cable over tensioned ? --- let the cable adjuster right back then pump the pedal a few times, then set the cable tension exactly as per Haynes Sierra manual.

Im not sure of anything

But if it were over tensioned wouldnt the rear brakes be on more not less?
