Any zetec E ( not SE )

So thats the 1.6, 1.8, 2.0 as fited to the Mondeo, Focus, Escort, Orion, OLD Fiesta's as well as others.

Mods depend on engine ie You may want to shorten the sump and metal will be needed to be hacked of for starter motor clearance, more so on a black top.

You shouldnt need to touch the block or head.

The easiest engine to fit would be a pre aug 1995 silver top from an escort/fiesta.

Induction/ exhaust and ancileries is another thread

As per your u2u There is no reason why a dohc wont fit but I wouldnt fit one my self.

Ok cheers for that, the dohc did fit and bolted onto the chassis but its too big for the bonnet and the injection unit higher than the block so ive got more work to do in the next process.thanks

Hi there pls advise does it mater if the engine was a transvers engine and will it fit north south.
(i found asomeone to swap with my dohc engine for a 1600 silver top escort mk7 engine) will this suit the mt75 gear box? thanks Alex

yeh if the 1600 is a zetec E and not an S(E) ie iron block then it will fit fine. Beaware the 1600 has smaller ports ect and is only around 90bhp as standard.

I dont think the se was ever fitted to the escort but could be wrong.

1.8 would be much better but if its free it will be easier to swap a zetec for a bigger zetec at a latter date. And the silver top escort is an easy fit and some even use the sump unmodified

I can not think of any zetec e that was ever anything but transverse even in 4x4 format.
