Hi All
Car is getting close to completion and the final big buy left is a diff.
I think I'm going to put a LSD in it but want to know people thoughts on it.
I'm also wondering on the best ratio.
The car is a Tiger Avon with a 2009 GSXR 1000 in it.
Cheers!
Ben
Suppose a lot depends on intended use, Road or Track
3.38 or 3.14 are ideal, 3.64 is ok but you will probably rev out in top gear on long straights.
Either Tran X or Quaife for the LSD, plenty use the Ford viscous, but having had both Ford then Quaife i would not go back.
Al.
its a fine balance between getting off the mark and top speed.. i would say that a 3.6 is a happy medium between pulling away and top speed..
I have an r1 lump and I use a 3.45 diff (bmw). It's just about right. Decent acceleration and motorways don't make you ears bleed.
I'd start with a nice cheap 3.62 LSD and take it from there.
id be looking at a 3.38 for sure.
I cant see any mention on wheel size?
Thanks for the tips.
Its on 15" wheels with 205/50/15 tyres.

For anyone interested I did a spreadsheet to work out speeds in gears.
Can be modified easily to suit other engines/ratios
If anyone wants it let me know (either how to attach it to here or I can email it)
