I think it's a case of swapping the crown wheel and pinion, but I've not done it myself so just going from advice of others...

Steve

And well done by the way!!!

Leave the pinion in the 3.38 casing and swap the LSD unit itself into that casing (obviously swapping over the crownwheel using plenty of locktite). You then need to fit the output shafts from the 3.62 LSD into the casing.

Yes it can be done,Ive got one in my car, made up from a 3.38 and a 3.62 lsd,did not do the job myself though, had it reconditioned with new bearings and seals etc at the same time.

Fairly straight forward to do, I built mine last winter, if you follow how Paul (Paul TigerB6)
has described above you wont go far wrong! You will then need to set the backlash up between the crownwheel and pinion again.

Thanks gents, before i left work i managed to strip both diffs and thought the same as paul suggests, will see how i get on tommorow, hopefully this will make quite a difference to the speed of the car i was getting fed up of only getting 110 top speed but getting there was/is easy,
good find i thought and it was free steve
