SPA Design 255mm D-Shaped Suede Steering Wheel
scootz - 17/11/11 at 09:50 PM

With white stitching.

Drilled for an SPA Design QR boss (not included).

I scored the face of the steering wheel during a botched attempt at fitting / removing a QR. so I've covered it in 3M Di-Noc. I think it looks better!

Not used, so suede is nice and fresh!

Cost £74.40 from SPA Design... £45 UK delivered from moi.

Only selling cos I stumbled across a 1980's F1 wheel and couldn't resist!

Apologies to all, I should have expanded on the post above... Joe had already been in touch via U2U asking for dibs and has since confirmed he'll take it.

NOW SOLD.

Pictures of your new wheel? Sounds like a very cool idea!

That's pretty damn cool.

Is that an original and authentic 1980's F1 wheel?

Looks in great condition. If it is I bet it could tell some amazing stories if it could speak.

The steering wheel has so much emotion put into it and feedsback so much to the driver. Like a world cup winning football I guess.

Sadly it's never been fitted to an F1 car...

It's unused old stock from McLaren.

Does Ron know you have it?

hobbsy - 22/11/11 at 03:04 AM

I was looking at that and wondering how it could have stories to tell and yet have no mounting holes in it...

Suppose they could use some kind of special epoxy resin to save weight?

What Ron doesn't know won't hurt him!
