i have a steel original that i could change to a rear fill for a few beer tokens if you like

Do you need it to be rear fill to fit it under your bonnet? If so, you MAY be able to trim down the filler cap to make it fit, that's what I did - there are 4 plastic 'lugs' (for want of a better word) just underneath the main top piece. If you trim them off with a stanley knife it means it will sit about 15-20mm lower, may be enough to squeeze it in...
