I saw a thread in this section which contained photos of dcoe 40's which had been adapted/altered into throttle bodies. Does anyone have an article or knowledge of how this is done please?

Some Jenvey bodies will fit DCOE 40 manifolds.
However Jenvey's are not cheap.

Think Bike throttle bodies, and Megasquirt.

Its a bit more work, but more in the locost Spirit.

Which ever way you go, its more expensive than carbs.

do you literally mean stripping the guts out of a Weber, leaving only the butterfly and getting an injector mounted somewhere to give EFI using the DCOEs as the throttle?

I have seen it done --- you really don't want to go down that route, the webers are worth money sell them and either buy throttle bodies to fif the manifold or use bike throttle bodies.

Thanks for the very prompt responses. Craig has hit it in one. I do mean rip the guts out of Carbs and fit injectors! I might end up using bike carbs but for the moment am wanting more info on the carb. ripping!

It was done in Car and Car Conversions years ago.

I keep being tempted with the idea - means you've got the look of webers without the hassle.

(i've already got the webers - but they'd need a rebuilt and jetting before i could use them)

You're quite right Mike. I saw the CCC article and did'nt keep it. I am still trawling around and if I find anything to throw light on this I will naturally post it on site.
