I have a webber alpha ecu for a standard 2.0 zetec which I'm running in my tiger avon on an engine that has been mildly tweeked, 285 cam and ported head and ARP bolts. Do I need to have the ecu reprogrammed and can I reset the rev limiter myself?

Weber Alpha is only programmable by a weber alpha dealer

Unless somebody knows different?

i run a 2.0 zetec with kent cams k2002. ported head 11.1. compression on the rollers it shows 199 bhp, all i done was sent it back to webcon to up the rev limit to7900rpm.beforehand i spoke to several so say webcon specialists who said it would definatly require remapping, since then i have spoken to ex webcon specialists who now say there is little point in a remap as the gains would be minimal.in the 3years i have been running the car it has been 100% reliable on road and track.

Hi yes the webber ecu needs to go to one of thier agents to be remaped and to have the rev limit and shift light moved.

HI mike.williams on the std ecu map for the 1800 zetec after a head and cams change a remap saw an increace of 17bhp at the top end and 22 in the mid range so i would see about getting a remap as the upgrades you have done are just going to waste.
