Ok so i am goingto need a towing hitch fitted to the Leon at somepoint, sorry for those of you who dont know (that'll be nearly all of you) my daily drive is a Seat Leon Cupra 1.8 20vt am planning on dropping it by about 30 mm later this year as the handling is a little sloppy for my tastes, does anyone know if this will infringe on my towbar ambitions?

If my squatted e39 is anything to go by - you'll be reet.

Might be worth asking mike aka guinness, he has a Leon and has / is going to fit a towbar to it....

my mate tows his race car (600kg) on a light weight trailor behind is leon c r and that's been working fine, however i seem to remember him saying there is no mention of towing limits in the handbook for the R

Towing limits aren't the worry for now but i have access to Seat to check this when the time comes. Just worries about the height of the hitch when connecting to Trailer!

Towed a trailer on an l200 which had been jacked up by 100mm, made range rovers look small and we had no troubles so would have thought 30mm lower wouldn't cause too many problems.

My cabriolet has a tow bar, and is lowered approx 40mm all round. Never had a problem. In fact, it's quite amusing to see a chav's face when they spot the trailer come flying past as they get blasted off the lights

Yeah, 30mm isnt much in the world order of it.
- Certainly for a two wheeled trailer i cant see it being an issue.
- If its a four wheeled dog, see what it looks like, but may need a 'drop plate' to raise it for ideal.

That said, when put the trailer on the fully laiden car to go home from uni at the end of last year it was well sat on the bumpstops. Doesnt get much lower than that. I think this year i'll do it three loads not two!

One small square cut in the lower section of the rear bumper. Don't think 30mm is really going to make much difference. My ride height changes that much depending on if I take my spare wheels to the track or not.

I've got a lowered VWT5 van (30mm) with a removable tow ball like the one pictured above.
It does hit the deck now and then when towing over speed bumps etc, but it only whacks the towbar, no lasting damage done.

well my sprinter isnt lowered at all and has ground a nice groove in my drive where it beaches!

hi, i have a saxo, it is lowered and i have a tow bar and it is fine.

as i have coil overs mine is adjustable as well just encase it became a problem
