Video game fast.

Humbug - 8/10/09 at 05:41 PM

1. Wow!
2. He's changing up at 150mph!
3. How come he didn't catch up with/overtake anyone?

tcr - 8/10/09 at 05:45 PM

woooh that looked fun

Richard Quinn - 8/10/09 at 05:57 PM

Couple of squeaky bum moments there! He didn't appear to be flat out on one of the straights (but he was back past Meuspath) and he hit the limiter a few times. I reckon he'll be ok with a bit more practice

Hellfire - 8/10/09 at 06:11 PM

Go BEC's

Phil

Tisn't strictly a bike engine though is it? Tis a car engine, never been fitted to any production bike, only to some production cars AFAIK.

May be busa based, but its never seen a bike

Go CECs

franky - 8/10/09 at 06:33 PM

I think this is somewhere where BEC and CEC could meet half way

Staple balls - 8/10/09 at 07:07 PM

That's not fast, that's S**t your pants fast.

DM - 8/10/09 at 07:09 PM

Is the engine derived from a car engine?
No.
Is it derived from a motorcycle engine?
Yes.
I rest my case your honour........

MakeEverything - 8/10/09 at 07:31 PM

I reckon i could beat that with enough money and practice too.

Good driving though. He's obviously very comfortable with the car.

55ant - 8/10/09 at 07:34 PM

a brilliant example of a very well set up car, very well geared, i am suprised they managed to fit the drivers balls in there though!

paddler20 - 8/10/09 at 07:34 PM

Ha, Vergers used to drive when I was spannering GT's before he got invloved in Radicals, used to scare the living out of me in a hire car back to the hotel

Pretty handy magician too as it happens !

Surely it's a Bike Derived Engined Car then?

Though I reckon more words should be added to point out its never been used in an actual bike.

Hellfire - 8/10/09 at 07:40 PM

Doesn't matter how many bike engines you stuff in a car, it's still a BEC. Just accept it and move on.....

Phil

02GF74 - 8/10/09 at 07:42 PM

good effort - you can see he got more confident, and more ragged the more he drove.

there is a longish almost straight bit where he set at 152 mph - w can see the car cna do 166 mph os definitely room for improvement.

I'd be still pootling round the first corner, LOL.

Well actually I wouldn't as my engine is borke

I'd probably be stopped behind you setting up a warning triangle and seeing what could be done to get you going again

You can't tell on videos/games etc. but that bit is actually quite steeply up hill...

But only gets 15mph out of the last gear!?

and it was a closed circuit hence why he finished on the finish line, not the gantry.

Hugh_ - 8/10/09 at 11:22 PM

He gets 169 on the straight before Aremberg, wouldnt fancy than in a radical, or any very lightweight kit myself...

ahh, that explains it, should have look att he angle the trees are growing

roadrunner - 9/10/09 at 09:33 AM

He did all that in just a t-shirt, oh and he missed a couple of apex's but i think i will let him off for that.

austin man - 9/10/09 at 09:04 PM

If its never been in a bike it cant be a bike engine Phil, Yamaha designed the Zetec does that make mine a BEC ??

Anyway canr be a BEC cos each time I follow a BEC theres always about a gallon of oil following it LOL

loggyboy - 10/10/09 at 08:21 AM

It also cant be a BEC if it would never fit back in the bike it came from!

roadrunner - 14/10/09 at 11:40 AM

It would fit into a bike if you take it apart and put it back into two bikes.
When a car engine is used its very rare that all the engine parts from the donor are used.
