Hello all,

the wifes parents have just bought a holiday home a lodge in the lake district, and have asked us if we will help them out promote it and run a website/organise bookings to an extent.

does anyome have any experience of this on here? i'd be interested to know what types of means you use to adverttise and also if there is software available to help organise bookings etc

There are loads of sites letting you add your let to.

Do a search.

If it's on a managed park/site then they usually have their own aswell.

we have a lodge on anglesey and we used to let it out. the site that we were on used to organise it for us whenever they had an enquiry from someone wanting to rent in the weeks we werent there. i though most sites did this as they take a decent cut of the rent as a fee

I have my place in Dartmouth advertised in brochure and online through the local tourist board - it has worked very well this year after being very poor last year through an agent. British holidays direct were offering permanent, one off fee deals for holiday lets - don't know how good they are mind.

Go on then, I'll bite.

Where is it? How many does it sleep and what sort of price is it?
