Exhaust bends, who is the cheapest, ???
ian.stewart - 24/10/14 at 10:19 PM

I want to build a exhaust manifold, in not particularly large sizes. 1.5" I cant believe the prices I have seen, somebody is ripping the P-ss out of the general public and us for that matter, All I want is a box of bends, not a Mortgage, Any suggestions from the people in my computer.

Try REV. Cheapest I have found.

Have a look at Spencer Ashley exhausts, they do a locost 4age kit - http://stores.spencerashley.com/manifold-kits/

Not used them so no view on quality etc but I may use them for my engine in the near future.

I just paid £10.50 for 180deg 1.5" bends from demand engineering they are stainless steel 304 if that helps?

I used these bends for my exhaust manifold. Cheap, quality is good enough, a drawback is they're not the tightest bends

The REV link, is very good, thanks !
question for the welder's in here, can you weld stainless to mild steel successfully ?

as my upper manifold is mild steel, and in good working order, yet the lower (home made ) portion is a mess

China, if you don't mind the wait.
Look for sanitary bends usually come in tight radius bends. Like £3-5 per bend from what i remember
Ebay on Aliexpress I used

I bought a pile of 2" and 3" stainless mandrel bends from my local fabricators. I paid £7 each plus £10 delivery. If I could have waited until they put and order in, I wouldn't have paid the delivery. So perhaps it's worth you popping into your local fab shop and see what they say. The guys I use are general sheet metal fabricators but specialise in stainless catering/food stuff.

I used a load of schedule 40 stainless bends. At the time they were reasonable price and quite tight bends.

Can't remember who from though. Prob find if you search my posts

Mild steel weldable bends , try BSS, or something of that nature. I do have a selection in workshop actually.
