Aluminium radiator repair.

Hi,
Has anyone got any reccomendations for repairing a (nearly new!) ally radiator that is leaking where the core meets the side piece, it looks to be leaking in the middle of the core so presumably a specialist is required?
Any advice appreciated as always!

return to where you bought it from if it is nearly new? warranty?

Iv'e sent an email but I'm not hopeful! I think it was bought it over a year ago but its only just been fitted to the car- thats the problem!

oh I know that feeling - buy something now, get round to using it in years time!

sorry, I thought it would be too obvious a suggestion, but sometimes I forget that I should look for the receipt or email...

Still..If it hasn't been damaged, then not fit for purpose?

If negotiations with the manufacturer don't work out, would something like Lumiweld be any good?

I would pursue the original manufacture/seller as even when its a year or more out, as said then its not fit for purpose

I had bought from this site an OBP pedal box and cylinders all unused, but when installed the front system always had air in
I contacted OBP, who asked for a receipt etc, as I was honest, and said it was second hand, but unused until I installed the system, they replaced the cylinder at no cost,

Good result, and very fair on there part

Thanks for the responses so far, I'm not particularity great at getting a good answer from company's so any advice on what to reply to this would be great! I have contacted said company. there response was...

'When was the radiator ordered, we would usually be able to do something on a part within 1 year, but not really any longer on aftermarket parts,'

So basically they are not interested! ill find out when i bought it and get back to them.

Ill throw in the not fit for use line but I'm not hopeful!

As regards fixing the radiator without chopping the end tank off I wouldn't be able to get in to weld it up!

I fixed an alloy radiator recently that had a hole in one of the tubes. Used regular JB weld, worked it in there and was pretty generous with it, has held up great so far.

I think as long as the JB weld can pass through the crack/hole to the inside and then settle/flatten out it creates a seal that shouldn't fail from pressure
