Twin choke carb on crossflow
thepest - 27/3/08 at 04:35 PM

How many different types are there? I have a set running on a 1300 x-flow but before I buy a servicing kit I would like to find out which they are. (I cannot post a photo just yet because I had my phone stolen and it was my camera too).

This type of twin choke has a flat top (where the air filter bolts on)
The choke is manual, does not work with butterflies closing but is of a plunger type.
The air jets screw onto the emulsion tubes.
There does not seem to be any main jets but it draws fuel from two holes in the bowl.
The air jets are 200 and 220 and the emulsion tubes are F30.

Its got this annoying flat spot above idle and part throttle, runs better when the second barrel opens, or if I run on part choke.
I suspect a leak from some gasket.

Help please.

do a sketch

I'm assuming you have checked the accelerator jet isn't blocked or partly so, as that produces a flat spot.

sounds a horrible crappy carb by the way

Hi STD problem with some carbs. The locost formula has about 10 or so people with this problem. There are various ways and means to make it better but no one who has had the problem has yet managed to eradicate it fully.

sorry for the quick reply but in a rush at the mo. Will add more to help the problem in the morning when doing the emails ect.

Cheers Matt

The DGV uses butterflies for the choke.

Is there a manufacturer's name on it. EG. Weber or FoMoCo?

A few corrections to my post. I found out what carb it is. It is a Weber 28/36. Webber 28/36

It is jetted as follows:
Idle jets 50/70, Main fuel jets 115/120, Main Air 200/220, Emulsion tubes F30/F30

It is running weak in mid range on a 1300 x-flow +90 bore pistons and mexico valves in a ported head.

Can anyone tell me where I may find jets for this type of carb?
