I have fitted my xe to ford type 9 gearbox in my F27 ,
I have come to the point to connect up the clutch cable to the clutch arm ( both ford items)
How much movement should there be?
The threaded end of the cable , with the adjustment nuts on, is right near the end, and only just goes into the hole on the bellhousing, and due to the angle of the clutch arm it keeps slipping out??
would the friction plate have stuck to the flywheel ??
any tips/help greatly appreciated!!!
Was working in the rain on it today trying to finish it of-

I use 2 Transit cables ( in case one breaks ) and the threaded ends go in the bulkhead and then to a bracket I made that fits to the block and both cables pass thru the hole in the bellhosing. The ends are then trapped in the clutch arm with a nut and bolt. Works fine.

Where the cable passes through the bellhousing you should have a plastic headed sleeve.On mine the original plastic bush was too short to give me any adjustment so i turned a new sleeve with a longer head on it.The original sleeve was in the Ford bellhousing.I did not get a sleeve with the new bellhousing.

Just gone down the workshop to take a couple of pics to make it a bit clearer.

I did exactly the same as triumphdave on my old XE powered RWD pug 205.

Went to hydraulic on the locost

arrrrgh - many thanks for that, no plastic sleeve on my bellhousing!!!,
makes sense now
Dave - would it be possible to make up a sleeve like yours for me please???
