"Unusual" wedding reception venue near sheffield/bakewell????

Any ideas out there?

We are trying to plan our wedding (me and the lovely Bec) and we are getting married at her church in Eccleshall area of sheffield (actually bents green) , but we are after a party venue for the reception and meal etc, not really done in the formal wedding style.

Been to look at Whirlow Grange, Whirlow Hall and Whirlow Farm today, and looking at the farm kindled my imagination for a barn type venue but preferably one less open that theirs........................

We could then do barbecue and hog roast etc for food, and our own bar, which with my brother's licence and our contacts is not a problem......

Any ideas??

Interested in any ideas that are a bit out of the ordinary to be honest, but need to be basically between shaffield and bakewell or in the southern/western half of sheffield?

Not sure if you can do anything on the Chatsworth Estate - suppose it depends on the budget.
Quite a few nice places in that area for open air venues - Monsal Head etc and have used Hassop Hall in the distant past.
Just added Peveril Castle (unlikely) and Haddon Hall (possible) to the list.
A lot of these places put on special events so no harm in being bold and asking them for a reception!

PMSL thought initially you meant the Shameless set. FOR A WEDDING now that would be unusual.

If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.
