Sorry to hear that!

I know 7 people who have been made redundant in 10 day's and 4 of those had no idea totally out of the blue.

Another two people i know,1 is on a four day week and the other has had to accept a 15% pay cut

Automotive Quality Engineer, experience with all the usual suspects, Ford, Jaguar, Landrover, Nissan, Aston Martin, BMW , Toyota.

All the usual, TS auditor, metrology, calibration etc

She's telling me the cars for sale but she'll go first

Pictures, mileage and price please

Gutted for you though, its still hitting lots of companies hard. I though the economy would have picked up by now, I still think its only a couple of months away.

A long shot, may be worth trying the defence companies, Lockheed Martin, BAE, Selex, MBDA et al they are still fairly boyant (theres a war going on don't you know), the quality engineers that use to work on my projects were rubbish. Great thing about military land vehicles is the basic engineering is pretty simple. Bet there are some vacancies somewhere.

Just don't talk to me about aluminium weld failures.....

Does that mean no "free" parts for making electric reverses? The guy opposite me at work is being laid off in about 2 months. It'll be the seventh time for him.

Sorry to hear that mate, hopefully it won't be too long before something else comes along. At least having till the end of July gives you some scope to find something before the time comes....

Having a beer for you here....

Not good news... not a good time generally...

My daughter's in Australia, about 4 or 5 months short of getting citizenship. She works in a recruitment company, so you can imagine it's a bad time for that business. If the company folds (and it might) then she has to come home as the supply of visas has dried up (all jobs going to Aussies first, which is fair enough) with little chance of going back again.

Sad, sad news

I'm in the midst of it myself. Tighten your belt hard - you'd be amazed how frugal the whole family can be if you all pull together.

My wife has been excellent over it, and the money is lasting longer than I'd hoped. Still not had to sell any toys yet either!

There are jobs out there, I've been for two interviews today - just spend your spare time working on high quality applications, rather than sending the same CV to 100 jobs. Well thats my approach anyway!

All the very best

That's bad news, sorry to hear it.

I don't think anybody or any industry is safe. Except those who work in the job centers!

We have just had a change of management which usually means some of the workers will be getting the chop.

Why do they call Port Harcourt "The Garden City"?...... Becauase they can't spell Stramash.

Sorry to hear the news Steve - hope you get through OK and manage to hold onto the car too (on the verge of selling mine after an enforced 15% pay cut myself)
